Who should replace Daniel Lee as the New Bottega Veneta Creative director ?
Updated: Jan 27, 2022

On 11 November 2021 it was announced that Daniel Lee would be leaving his position as the creative director of Bottega Veneta due to unknown reasons. There are speculations that he is possibly heading to Burberry to replace Riccardo Tisci. Now before you start yelling at your screens , i know Bottega Veneta has already announced that they will be using Matthieu Blazy as their new creative director . However , here are three other choices that I think are as equally great if not better .

Mike Amiri
His namesake label produces luxury interpretations of vintage clothing . He is adored by rappers and is a constant feature in rap songs. AMIRI brought in 100 million dollars in sales in 2019,which is no small defeat for an independent fashion label . He might be somewhat of an unconventional choice however that's not necessarily a bad thing . The fact of the matter is whoever replaces Lee is going to be under the microscope and constantly compared to him so why not bring in a guy who has nothing in common with Lee to prevent that . His grungy aesthetic would be a cool addition to Bottega.

Kerby Jean-Raymond
He was the talk of town earlier this year with his couture show. The first African American designer to be invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Collections to show case his Pyre Moss couture collection. He is also the global creative director at Reebok. The man has has cool points with both the high fashion and street wear crowd . As an added bonous he is a designer's designer , old school like Margiela and lagerfeld.

Don c
While he is most notable for reinventing classic NBA and NFL hats with premium snakeskin brims. Don C has also worked as brand consultant for brands like Nike, Louis Vuitton , Converse , New Era , Vans, Dior . Constantly named dropped by Kanye West . Unfortunately he is extremally underrated and most of his work is done behind the scenes so while not the biggest name on this list he has certainly earned his stripes in the fashion industry over the last decade .
